Available Positions at The Covenant Academy
1. SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
a. Qualification
- The candidate should possess a B.Ed, B.A, and/or B.Sc with five (5) years post-qualification experience teaching in a nursery, primary, and junior secondary school. An MSc or Post Graduate Diploma in Education would be a welcome advantage.
- A minimum of five (5) years post-ACE qualification teaching experience is required
- The candidate should be computer literate, proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and a database application
- They should be experienced in Administrative and Managerial duties in an educational setting
- International exposure would be a great asset
b. Abilities/ Gifting
- He or she must believe in and possess highly excellent standards
- Must be willing to learn and use the Nigerian adapted ACE curriculum, in accordance with the vision and mission of the school
- Must be faithful
- Must believe and adhere to system and structure
- Should lead by example and be a team player
c. Job Description
The candidate is expected to:
- run the academic arm of the school and ensure that qualified and proven teachers are hired according to procedure. These teachers should be proven to se cognitive, affective, and psychomotor methods of teaching
- train the staff in-house to greater levels of excellence
- assist the Senior Administrator with daily assembly coordination
- assist the Senior Administrator to coordinate daily devotions with the students
- assist the Senior Administrator to counsel students and parents
- screen and admit students
- conduct Students orientations as needed
- coordinate Interschool activities
- recommend the teachers for promotion
- write monthly letters of communication to parents
- plan Parent-to-Teacher Functions
- inspire achievement
- plan the school calendar
- order the school materials and textbooks
- coordinate field trips
- coordinate the extra curricular activities
- always give timely feedback to the Senior Administrators.
- carry out any other duties that may come up in line with the position.
d. Remuneration:

2. SUBJECT TEACHERS
- Should be well spoken of and must love children. They will be responsible for the welfare of the children under their care, ensuring they assimilate all they are taught.
- Must prepare and submit lesson notes, collate and submit test/examination questions
- Coordinate any extra curricular activities which will be of benefit to the children
- Should create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
- Establish effective rapport with students
- Motivate students to develop skills, right attitudes and knowledge needed
- Should establish good relationships with parents and other staff members
- Must always give timely feedback to the Principal and Senior Administrators.
- Must be submitted to authority.
3. CLASS ASSISTANTS
- Must be well-spoken of, willing to take instructions and execute them efficiently.
- They will assist the class teacher to ensure that the children receive the best education possible.
- Ensure that the classrooms are neat and tidy at all times and all educational materials are available when needed.
